Kindness Sharing
Lily and her mother lived in a small, happy village, but sometimes, their food cupboard was empty. One bright morning, Lily went to pick berries in the forest. While looking under leafy trees, she met an old woman with a kind smile.

Lily shared her berries with her, and in return, the old woman gave Lily a tiny, shiny pot. “Say ‘Cook, little pot, cook!’ and it will give you yummy porridge. When you have enough, say, ‘Stop, little pot, stop!’” Lily thanked her and hurried home.

At home, Lily showed her mother the pot. They tried it right away. “Cook, little pot, cook!” Lily said. Instantly, the pot filled up with warm, sweet porridge. They ate until they were full. “Stop, little pot, stop!” Lily said, and the pot stopped cooking.

Every day, the pot helped Lily and her mother have breakfast and share with their neighbors. One day, while Lily picked flowers, her mother wanted a snack. She remembered how to start the pot but forgot how to stop it!

The pot made more and more porridge until it spilled onto the floor, out the door, and down the street! The neighbors laughed and scooped up porridge with their bowls and cups. It was a wonderfully silly mess.

Lily rushed home, giggled at the porridge flood, and called, “Stop, little pot, stop!” Right away, the pot stopped, and the village was full of porridge—and full tummies. From then on, everyone used their magic words—and remembered that sharing and kindness make every day happier.
