One sunny morning, a tiny girl no bigger than your thumb peeked out from inside a bright tulip. This cheerful girl, named Thumbelina, spent her days giggling with bees, dancing on soft leaves, and sliding down shiny dewdrops.
Once, she plopped right onto a ladybug’s back! The ladybug buzzed through clover patches, and they both laughed as they tumbled along under green grass. Thumbelina loved her cozy garden and all its gentle creatures.
One afternoon, while Thumbelina played in a sparkling puddle, a big green frog hopped over. "Hello!" croaked the frog, looking curious. Before Thumbelina could run away, the frog kindly scooped her onto a wide lily pad. "My son would love a friend like you!" said the frog. Thumbelina wished she could go home, but now she was drifting on the pond.
As night sparkled over the water, Thumbelina softly sang a little song. A friendly fish heard her and began to nibble the stem holding her lily pad. With a wiggle and a push, it set Thumbelina free! Down the stream she floated, waving to her water friends who cheered her on.
